Alan Wake

I'm very mixed on this game. I didn't hate it, and it feels like the start of Remedy becoming what they are now, but I think it could've been better.

One of the positive aspects of the game is the voice acting imo. At the start it felt like Matthew Porreta, the voice actor for Alan Wake, was delivering his lines in a very strange way but I very quickly started liking it because of how it felt like him reading the story himself. I actually really enjoyed the story, it was confusing when it should've been and everything fell into place at the end. The ending being a cliffhanger was probably a bit disappointing when the game originally released but with the release of Alan Wake 2 it made me excited to play the 2nd one.

I'll now talk about the negatives. The game just felt really repetitive, every objective was just going to a location so a story character can give you another location to fight your way to. This makes the game not something I want to replay soon because I know there's nothing that will feel new. The game gives a lot of ammo and flares/flashbangs so there's no element of resource managment which makes the game even more tedious to me. I think the only reason I'd replay it is to see how my opinion changes after Alan Wake 2.

I know this may have been amateurish but I hope I explained my opinions well enough.

Thank you for reading my first post. I hope I can write longer posts and improve in the future :3
